Located on the Atlantic coast of the Sahara and in the extreme south of Morocco, Dakhla (formerly Villa Cisneros, capital of Spain’s Rio de Oro colony), is a city located between gigantic sand dunes on the edge of a beautiful lagoon with turquoise waters. In 1884 Dakhla is one of the international bases of airmail and transatlantic flights. Before crossing the ocean, explorer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry had stayed there and he probably wrote part of his book "Le Petit Prince".
